Backend & APIs

Backend systems and APIs built to carry real traffic

TxLabz builds the backend layer — APIs, data models, integrations, background jobs, and auth — that mobile apps, web products, and AI systems all sit on, designed to stay predictable as traffic, data, and team size grow.

Predictable

Response times that hold as traffic and data volume grow

Documented

APIs your own team and partners can integrate without asking us

Observable

Logging, metrics, and alerting so failures surface before customers report them

Who This Is For

Best for teams whose product outgrew its first backend, who need an API several clients can share, or who are wiring a growing number of third-party systems together.

Common Starting Points

  • The backend was written to get the product launched and now every new feature risks breaking checkout or login.
  • Mobile, web, and internal tools each hit the API differently because there was never a real contract.
  • Queries that were fine at ten thousand rows are timing out at ten million.

What We Cover

Services inside this category

REST & GraphQL API Development

Design and build documented, versioned APIs that mobile apps, web clients, and partners can all integrate against safely.

Database Design & Query Performance

Model data properly, index deliberately, and fix the queries that quietly slow the product down as volume grows.

Service & Microservice Architecture

Split a monolith only where it pays, with clear boundaries, messaging, and background jobs that keep the system understandable.

Third-Party & Systems Integration

Connect payments, CRM, ERP, messaging, and internal systems with retries, idempotency, and failure handling that survive real outages.

Authentication & Access Control

Implement authentication, roles, permissions, and tenant isolation correctly the first time, including SSO and multi-tenant models.

Our Process

How TxLabz delivers this work

01

Domain and load review

We map the entities, access patterns, integration points, and realistic traffic profile before choosing an architecture.

02

API and data design

We define the schema, service boundaries, API contracts, and auth model, then agree them with every client team that has to consume them.

03

Build with tests and instrumentation

We implement with automated tests, migrations, structured logging, and metrics wired in from the start rather than added after an incident.

04

Load, harden, and hand over

We test under realistic load, close the security and reliability gaps, and hand over documentation your team can actually run the system from.

Why TxLabz

What sets our delivery apart

01

The data model is the product

We spend real time on schema and boundaries early, because almost every backend that becomes painful became painful in the data model first.

02

One API, many clients

We design contracts that mobile, web, and partner integrations can share, with versioning and documentation so consumers are not guessing.

03

Boring where it should be boring

Proven databases, clear service boundaries, and straightforward deployment beat novel architecture that nobody on your team can operate at 3am.

FAQ

Common questions before engaging

01

What backend stack do you build on?

Most commonly Node.js and TypeScript, Python, or Go, on PostgreSQL, with Redis for caching and queues. We will also work in your existing stack when there is a team to hand back to — the right stack is usually the one your people can maintain.

02

REST or GraphQL?

REST for most services, GraphQL when you have many clients with genuinely different data needs and the extra complexity earns its place. We are happy to run both where a mobile app and a partner integration want different things.

03

Can you fix performance on a backend we already have?

Yes, and it is often the cheapest work we do. We profile the real bottlenecks — usually queries, indexes, and N+1 access patterns rather than the framework — and fix those before recommending anything as expensive as a rewrite.

04

Do you build the backend for AI features too?

Yes. Retrieval pipelines, vector stores, queues, and evaluation and cost controls are backend problems. We build them alongside our applied AI work rather than treating them as a separate discipline.
